Car Only Came with One Key.

So I just bought an IP 03 6MT from a Mercedez-Benz Dealer. It came in has a trade in but I onlee recieved one key and alarm thing. No spare or Valet Key. Should I be worried that someone can potentially steal my car with the other key? If so what should I do? change locks? new alarm system? I'm new, so anything would help. thanks.

The car comes with 4 keys when purchased new.
2 sets of owners keys+key fobs
1 valey key
1 emergency key that only opens the doors but doesn't start the car.

I had key fobs for sale but they were just purchased. You can buy them on eBay for around $25 and I think you can program them yourself. See http://www.infinitihelp.com/Ownershi...am_key_fob.htm

You would have to buy a new key from the dealership though. Let us know how much they charge for a key and fob.

Just go to the dealer to buy another key and he'll reprogram the new one and the existing one to a new code.
Any other exsting key then won't work.

By the way, if anyone buys a used car and doesn't have extra keys, I would try to get another $100 to $200 off the price, since that is what it would cost for a new key.

Wierd, I had SAME situation. Bought my '04 from mercedez dealer 2 months ago and ONE key/fob. And valet key.

I bought extra Fob from ebay. 26.00. Easy to program yourself. It came with instructions.

I went out 2 hours of town to get my car AND it was a chick who owned hair salon, I'm not concerned about theft....

Same situation with me, thanks for the info. Now as for the keyless entry module, is that something that you can purchase and reprogram yourself?

Thanks, when you said "key fob" I thought you were referring to programming a key and not a remote, so I didn't open up your link.
