Discount Tire tried to Screw me!

I went into DT yesterday to get all new tires for my g35 04 Coupe... plus i was eyeing some rims i thought would look nice on my Dark Gray car.

I pick out rims for 149 a piece and was promise they would looks the same as my old rims if not better

After paying about $1600

they even tried to offer me $200 for my factory rims to "save me money" Ididnt do it

I walk out and noticed the new rims seems very small and not flush with the fender like the factory rims were..

They sold me... 18' with a shorter width then the factory rims

I was sooo pissed!

They were telling me if i dropped my car it may look better.. makin all kinds of excuses

I told them to take them off my car and put the old rims back on with the new tires.

THen they tried to upsale me on some chromes one that were $250 more..

I told them no and i wasnt happy and they tried to sell me rims that werent speced for my car.

In the end.. I got them to shipped UPS overnight (4) $215 per rims and sell them to me for $145 per rims

This are the ones I chose:

A friend that worked at Discount Tire and other wheel places told me that he used to tell customers that they didn't have the tires they were looking for in stock so they can sell the guy the expensive tires, or would find some cheap tires, saying those are the only ones that fit that car that they have in stock and sell them for a grip.

It appears to me that while Discount Tire made a mistake, they continued to work with you to make it right and in the end, they did make it right. It looks like you saved $280 on your new rims since they sold you them for $145/ piece instead of $215. Not to mention, they paid for overnight shipping to satisfy you.

Personally, I've had nothing but good experience with Discount Tire on all of my vehicles. In fact, just yesterday, I had the Goodrich KDW 2's placed on my rear wheels. They did the job flawlessly and allowed me to watch the mounting process. They came close to matching Tirerack's price on them as well and I have the warranty, free lifetime balancing, and flat repair. I hope your incident is isolated and am glad they took care of you, so it seems.

Discount Tire tried to Screw Me! PART 2

Should i forget about these rims

I pick them out of a catalog.. at Discount Tires.. they were on a full page spread..i think it was on a silver G35..

I was going with a performance rim that was gunmetal.. but opted for this cuz of the ad.

Should i just stay with my factories..

I have till tommmorrow to decide
