i originally spoke to big dealership who wouldn't negotiate price on coupe. in fact, they didn't seem to interested to get my business.

called smaller dealership little farther away.

over phone, negotiated 1000 off msrp, put down credit card deposit, even filled out credit app. this was 6/3.

as it turns out, it was to be an 04.

people questioned whether they would honor price or pass increase to me. as it turns out, they are honoring my price, which now becomes 1250 off msrp (04 6mtC).

and.... they are honoring their commitment to the 3.9% financing rate.

maybe the rates were cheaper then, but now, 3.9 for a coupe is good.

Douglas Infiniti in Summit NJ, Gil Coronado was my salesman.

Hopefully i get the car next week. they did me good, i'm spreading the word.

 

Good deal, man. I believe Infiniti is still running their 1.9% deal til the end of August, though. You might want to investigate that... we were going to just plunk down cash for my mom's FX, but when that ad came on we switched-- 1.9% is practically free money if you can get a good return on cap.

Interesting... I know it's offered on the FX and G- coupes included (Infiniti nationally advertised it as such), but I didn't know it was only for '03s. Our dealer was going to offer us 1.9% on an '04 G35 (Yeah, my dad wants one now) last week when we went to get the FX, so I assumed everyone was doing it. Maybe it's regional to some extent?

shopping around, the best "aftermarket" interest rates i've seen are 3.9

Very interesting... why would their TV ads say "Save with 1.9% financing on the G35 Sedan, Motortrend's Car of the Year, and of course the G35 Coupe". I love ads. Oy...

Perhaps our dealer was being extremely nice, seeing as that would've been our third car in three months from them. I'm sure his boss doesn't mind helping out good repeat customers...? I was excited about getting an 04... My dad, however, decided against it; not too practical [img]/w3timages/icons/frown.gif[/img]

I went to my dealer and they said those financing rates only apply to the I35, FX35, and G35 Sedan... the coupes and FX45 with tech package are not included.... and I remember on Infiniti's page about the event, it only mentions those cars in the fine print and does NOT mention the coupe... although it shows it in the pictures and ads, it does not specifically say the coupe is involved...

 

Cool... they must've just creatively worded the TV ads to make it sound like they were offering it; They just said "and also come save on the 2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe" but didn't put it right next to the other offer... I hate looking at small print on the TV screen.
