That's a hidden feature of the car. Infiniti engineers figured out that you use less gas with the engine off.
That's what we do at my job when we find bugs in our software.... "Oh.. that's a hidden feature".
Basicly your car just stalled. That's why it was hard for you to turn the wheel... because when your engine is not on, you lose the power steering. Big rims/tires on a vehicle make it real tough to turn without the Power Steering(Try turning a Full-Size PU truck on 33's with no PS, you'll get a hell of a tricep workout). It's not a problem in small cars like Civics which might have 13 or 14 inch rims and pizza cutter thin tires.
If you decide to bring your car in, address the problem as "Stalling".

auto huh. Hmm. My car has stalled 3 times since ownership all at different times. None after pumping gas. My car once stalled as I was leaving college. My car was nice and shiny from the wash the night before. It was a beautiful day and I push the clutch in to slow down for a speed bump and the car dies. It was pretty embarressing to crank the car with about 35 people looking at me. Im getting ahead of myself. I wouldnt worry about it though. If it is persistent then look into it.
