Wow,

You NEVER want to be at what it says as max on the TIRE itself.

36 is what is recommended i believe.

Mario , I've notice you just upgraded to 18's. Is ther ride quality much different than the 17's? Rougher?

I think mine are a bit over 40 about 45 now I will lower to about 35-37.

The ride was "nicer" with the 17s, with the 18s the ride is a bit more harsh, I can feel bumps more and I hear more rattles inside, I hope when I lower the pressure it will get a little better but yeah overall the ride is "softer" with the 17s but its not really that bad with the 18s.

What i did was put in 40psi and work my way down 1psi till i found the perfect balance of firmness and comfort. Took a 3 days of driving to find out

36.5 on the front and 35 on the back is perfect for me

Keep the tire pressure at 35psi (as recommended on the sticker).
Keeping the pressure below 35psi will wear out your tires prematurely on the outside edges. Keeping the pressure above 35psi, will wear out your tires prematurely in the middle part of the thread. If you absolutely need to differenciate yourself from 35psi, I would go a few pounds more, but never less.

And ALWAYS check the pressure when it's cold, which means NOT driven for few hours.

Recommended is 35, by the manual. In consultation with a Nissan/Infiniti mechanic who himself races, and following, with a guage at numerous points on all four corners, for the life of a set of PSs, he and I would humbly suggest that 34 worked better and provided nominal (ideal) wear over 20K kms (rears to the wear bars evenly- fronts were also nominal, but yet to be done when I sold my 03 for an 05). The benefit was that the car was less "skatey". I know it sounds whacked that 1 PSI could be felt- you try it for yourself and decide. 33 was tried up front briefly in hopes of shaking off some understeer, to no avail.

Cheers,
Derek
