Red face Help in jacking up the G

This may be a dumb question, I searched already but could not fing a straight answer. OK, I know where the 4 support points are. I assume there's only one spot for the jack, so what I'm trying to figure out is, once one corner is jacked up, how do I go about replacing the jack with the stands to hold car in position?

are you trying to do this with the factory jack? if you're using a hydraulic jack then just lift the car up by the frame then put the stand under the jacking point on the pinch molding under the skirt.

or you can kill two birds with one stone and jack the car up from the frame, right behind the oil pan and then the whole front of the car will be up in the air, then throw the stands under it.

Where else is the frame exposed along the outer edge of the car besides the jack points? I ran into this problem a few weeks ago. My hydrolic jack and stands were too wide to fit next to each other.

i have jersey-g's problem. i am doing it with the facotry jack so i don't have the option of jacking it up at the other centre point. Even if I did know where it was, wouldn't help me much as i'm using the factory jack. Don't tell me I have to get a hydrolic jack just for this purpose

if you have another jack, you can jack up the front or rear from jackpoints. See the fAQ section for threads on this. i put a diagram in there straight from the service manual. it is ok to jack it up by the differential.

that's why you put the jack in the center on the frame and lift the whole front at once.

I saw that thread. Doesn't really help me unfortunately I need to jack up the front, not the rear (so jacking from rear differential would not help me). Secnldy, I only have the OEM jack and a pair of jack stands. You can't use the OEM jack at the front center location right? So basically i'm only given the 4 jack points to play with. Which brings me to the original question, how do i put the jack stands in place after i've jacked up the car?

Jacking the front side just behind the front tire w/ OEM jack. Jack it up and just behind the front tire, inset a little bit (at least it's on the sedan...so I presume it's on the Coupe too), there should be a steel looking hook/loop. See if the jack stand will adapt/fit w/ that; otherwise, you can just place it on the steel frame (the part that the loop/hook is connected to). Make sense?

There is a large flat section of frame right beside the cats that works great.

Unfortunately, the G does not have a frame. Like many cars today, the G has a unibody. The only safe locations to lift the G from are the front jacking point and the rear jacking point. Afterwards, you slip in jack stands to the jack stand points (4).
