Paint (Not the best???)

I was at the dealership the other day, looking at the 6speeds. I noticed the paint on the cars was bumpy and wavy (like how they paint a anti-ship coating on under body and some cars side pannels. The entire car looked that way. It was clean and glossy, just not smooth.

My old Ford has better paint, than these on the lot!

Anyone notice this on the G or are these cars(at this dealer) defective?

Odd... the paint is smooth as glass on mine, and I haven't seen any problems yet. Where are you located? Hail recently?

Not hail, the clear is smooth as glass. The paint itself looks bumpy. Look at the back trunk and bumper, they paint it differently to resist road damage. On these cars the entire paint looks that way, hood and all.

Its very minor, but on a waxed(showroom) car the reflection looks wavy, were as normal waxed(my other cars) car, looks like a mirror.

WRATH has been on DRIVER since 2003 and he still hasn't posted anything in his garage. Guess he doesn't like his '04 DG coupe?

It's called orange peel, and it is present on all cars to various degrees. Excessive orange peel may indicate a bad repaint, but you would need to be able to tell the difference or use a paint thickness gauge. Orange peel may be accentuated by defects such as swirls and marring on the car to various degrees.
