i noticed on my friends 04 g coupe when the low fuel light is on his navi tells him that.. but how come mine doesn't do that? is it just o4's i doubt that.. hmm if anyone can help me out..

 

Ive never had my light come on.. but you got me wondering if the 06 NAVI does this? (It tells you the trunk is open!)

 

My 06 hasnt told me anything... but i usually fill up when theres a quarter tank left, so i guess i have not tested it

 

my 05 does NOT do it either...

 

i have an 04 also and it tells me my light is on and it brings up the nearest gastations......i think its the same software in all the models so they all do it. The 06 prolly has more

 

you're probably right. i probably don't notice it cuz I always have my navi screen on the little leaf MPG lol

 

I believe with the '04 it bumps you to a low fuel warning screen REGAURDLESS of what current screen you are on. (ie. map, fuel consump., etc..)

Your best bet is to call Zenrin up, and see what they say.

Mine has come on before, but it was after the light was already on for a few miles. I was going by the "distance to empty" on the nav, but I can't remember when the nav display popped the picture of a gas tank up on the screen. If you run it low enough, it will pop up.

 

I wonder if you have to change a setting on the Nav unit. I have an 05 and I never fill up until the light turns on but my Nav has never told me this.

 

On my 03.5 I do get a low fuel warning on my navi with the closest gas stations. However it often comes on as much as 40 miles or more after the low fuel light.

Try running the car until the "dist to empty" says ** (0) and see if it comes on. Don't worry u won't run out of gas.

 

I also have the 05 and I have never herd or seen any info about the trunk being open or that my gas is low. I've also never had it reroute me to the closest gas station..

Is their a specific setting to make it do this? And does this only work on the 04?
