Anyone changed the ECU?

I searched and searched and couldn't find where anyone had written about changing the ECU on their G. I would love to know if new 'computers' are not available for US models, but it appears to be fairly common here in Japan. A friend of mine drives an '03 350Z and changed his ECU and is very pleased with the results. I am going to get my Impul ECU installed tomorrow and will let everyone know my impressions.

For the Impul system they only need to change the plugs, where the Nismo system was the plugs, exhaust, Y-pipe, and Intake. Impul states that I will see an increase in mid-range torque as well as high-end horsepower. This change will also apparently increase my redline to 7000rpm like the USM '05s so that maybe where the extra high-end kick is coming from.

The whole change out should cost me about $1000 so I am interested to see if it is worth the price and how much it negatively affects my mileage.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has made a similar change, and will post my impressions soon.

Do you mean really changing the ECU or chipping the existing one? I tried to swap ECUs in my car lately and the shop had big problems with coding the immobiliser (even getting the codes). I had to give up.
