Question for those w/ axle rattle

Guys/Gals,

I am trying to figure out if the noise i am hearing is just the normal transmission noise or the axle. I searched for a way to diagnose it, but couldn't find any definitive threads. It will make a rattling or clicking noise from a take off in 1st and 2nd. The clicking/rattling is repeated several times I'd say at least 10 to 20 times in a few seconds. Is the axle click just once or is it several times like what I'm describing? To me, it sounds like it's coming from the front, but sound can be deceptive.

Yeah, I thought it was the clutch/transmission. I'm okay with it as long as it is common with most if not all. It's just easy to hear when you don't have the windows up. I've heard of a lot of owners who either love it or hate it. Thanks for the replies.

in regards to the clutch chatter, it should go away when you depress the clutch. I notice the damn chatter whenever I'm at a stoplight with my windows down. But it goes away when I depress the clutch fully. If the noise doesn't go away when you do that, it might be something else
