06 6mt dyno stock

So i just dynoed my stock 06 6mt and was kind of shocked by the performance. I was thinking it would be around 235-240hp range but it was at the 227hp mark and 205 torque mark. Anyone else have results around these numbers.

I guess i have to look on the positive side and say that i have a good baseline number for the m-rev plus that will be here on monday.

holy crap man...from 298HP (as reported at the crank on the web site), it's only 227??? Man, that's horrible (I have an 06 6mt with Mrev+ too)...is it normal to lose that much power at the wheels?

What kind of dyno did you use (i.e., dynojet, dynapack, mustang, etc...)? From what I understand, dynos which utilize rollers to measure HP will give you lower readings than dynos where you hook up to the hubs (such as the dynapack). From what I've been researching on this board, typical driveline loss at the tires is approx. 18% for the G. As such, you should be seeing around 244 peak HP, so your 227 seems low by comparison.

I belive it was a dynojet..... i think. The car was on the dyno with rollers and sat about 6 feet off the ground on a lift. I am kind of new to this and i only have 3700 miles on the car, so please excuse my lack of info.

also it was 84.81 degrees out side, i know that can change your reading as well

Seems a bit low for a Dynojet. I did 253 hp stock and 230tq for my 05 6mt. I am willing to bet it was a Mustang Dyno.

Most manufacturers give the horsepower rating at the crank with no accesories hooked to the enigine. So that means no altenator, no water pump, no power steering pump, etc. So that will bring down the numbers a bit

don't expect alot from the mrev plus either. I mean, nice significant boost in torque but overall hp, maybe like 5! I dyno'd my 05 6mt on sunday with the rest of the G-Squad. I got the highest hp and second highest tq. 263hp and 239 FT/lbs. All i have installed was an Injen CAI and an used Injen catback exhaust. There were others with exhaust, mrev, cai, headers, free flowing cats, etc. that got way less than me. The next person after me was an 04 6mt. He went twice. First, he got 251hp with just a z-tube. 2nd time, he got 257 hp after we installed a motordyne 5/16 spacer. After him, an 05 6mt with HKS ti catback exhaust (the new one) and mrev plus. He got 253 hp i think but he had the most tq, at 240 Ft/lbs. I think the problem with some, like the 05 with mrev plus and hks, is that he didn't have a CAI or open air filter for the mrev to take advantage. That, and i think the hks is too big for an N/A car with few mods. Its 3in diameter. Not enough back pressure to take full advantage of it. I think best mod for money is CAI, then Exhaust under 3in, then Mrev, then underdrive pulley. That's for N/A cars!!!

topherc29,
Also remember there's an Uncorrected -Smoothing Factor 1 to 5 and Corrected - SAE. The SAE will read the lowest of all.
If you switch dynos, make sure you use the same one for the MREV to properly track your gains.

2003 G35C 5AT
Bone stock 221 WHP on a dynojet, Smoothing Factor 5
after mods
Stillen Airbox, Z-tube, 1/2" MD spacer with ISO Thermal Kit, Invidia G200 exhaust, and KJR LW pulley. 250 WHP on same dynojet, Smoothing Factor 5

Actually your not right. PEAK HP you might get 5. TQ will shoot way up. But the power under the curve (that you don't see on the peak info) is where the MREV shines. You gain over 15+ hp and 15+ tq through a good portion of the midrange.
