I have had the Escort Solo II for almost two years and it has saved my butt several times, but today when I went to get my new alarm installed I saw the SR7 on the counter and inquired about it. I almost fell back when I heard the price, but I got it anyway. $900 is not bad considering that if I get caught doing 150mph I will end up in jail and it will cost me a lot more to get out.

This thing is crazy....radar detector and a laser jammer all in one. You have a jammer in the front and the rear (on the license plate). Here are some pics. The white specs on the bumper is the paint chipping. I am getting it repainted soon.

I live in Florida. I don't believe jammer are illegal. The installer didn't tell me they were and he has one on his car.

 

laser shifters are legal still since fcc doesnt regulate laser freq...radar jamming is illegal

 

you're right. I used the wrong terminology. it's a laser shifter not jammer.

Correct. It's the freaking FDA. The Food and Drug Administration. Makes sense to me. Whenever I think of lasers, I think of food and drugs.

Is the X50 a "laser shifter" also? How much do they run?

 

No but you can buy the ZR3 laser shifter and it can work with the X50. The ZR3 is $499 installed, but you can get them cheaper and do the install yourself.
