You were speeding and he caught you. That's what we call in my field "guilty." Do I think you deserve it? Nope. Get a badge like me and you'll have better luck going 10mph+ over the speed limit.

Right, so let's lock him up and throw away the key. This ticket was issued for one reason and one reason only: to collect additional revenue. It's nothing more than a hidden tax. I certainly would fight this one.

Most states have a law that gives you 7 business days to register a change of address with them. A friend of mine used to work at the DMV, and the reason they have this law is that the DMV has no way of getting ahold of you should they need to issue an application for vehicle registration or send you a ticket or other notification in the mail for something.

It still sucks though, because most people have soo many other things to worry about while in the process of moving.

This 240 dollar fine... this was in addition to a speeding violation fine?

the answer to this questions is ALWAYS "yes, that is my current address". only bad things can happen when the law knows where you really are- I have yet to hear of Ed McMahon showing up with a million bucks from a adder obtained from the DMV

My worst is in a roadtrip yo UCSB from San Fran on memorial day a few years back 5 tcickets divided by my friends and I were given out. I got 2 for going 75 in a 70 both on the same stretch of road.

Then again I also got let go for doing 130 (stupid I was 17 at the time) with a warning so the world evens out.

Hey look all of us agreed that if we were issued a driving license, we would abide to all applicable laws. Be thankful that California changed the fwy speed from 55 to 65mph. Like the saying goes -"Give an inch, they'll take a foot". I admit going 70mph on the fwy and if I get caught, so be it. I'll plead guilty and pay up. If you have a bad habit of speeding, don't drive on the fast lane. You people complain about cops being dicks and should be doing real police work. Well if they didn't regulate drivers, our freeway system would be in chaos with dumbass drivers going 90+ mph.

i've actually weighed this option... but they pay nc police almost nothing... i'd be better off staying in the military.
