Can the brake pedal be lowered?

My brake pedal is about 1" higher (further out from the firewall) than the gas pedal. Is it possible to lower it so it's even with the gas pedal? I think this would make it easier/faster to apply the brake after letting off the gas.

i don't think so, but on previous cars that had that kind of issue, i added
a pedal over the existing gas pedal to raise it to even out the plane.

in fact, i think i did that to my current G35C too... it's been a while since
the last time i worked on the pedals.
