Car won't start. Cycles through lock and on, won't crank, stiff brakes

So I drove to the grocery store this morning and when I came out to go home I pushed the brake and hit the start button and the car cranked for a good 20 seconds but didn't turn over. I shut it off and waited a second then the second time I hit start the car only cycled between off, acc and on repeatedly and couldn't be stopped. The brake pedal was also very hard to push down. I disconnected the battery and tried it again with the same results. Can't stop the car from cycling through lock/acc/on.

I left it at the grocery store with the battery disconnected so I have to go back and try to jump it (the battery is fairly new) but I went online and some people said it was the master cylinder and some said the brake switch. If I can get it started i'll just drive it home and replace the switch myself but if it's the master cylinder i'll take it to nissan up the road. Any thoughts on what it could be?

thanks in advance! - Bob

So I went back a little while ago, reconnected the battery and when I hit the button it cranked but didn't start and then stopped when it timed out. Hit the button again and the same results. I tapped the accelerator a few times and then the third time was the charm. I let it run for a minute then shut it off and it started no problem. I moved it to the far end of the parking lot and left it so I can get a ride back later. I have no idea wtf the problem was. I know the brakes not going to the floor is a part of it but i've never had an issue with this before. I'll just run it around town for a few days and make sure all is well. I'd hate to have to go after the master cylinder. Maybe my brakes need to be bled.

So for anyone that wants to know I got the car home and the scanner threw me a P0463 code which means faulty fuel sending unit. Makes sense since i've noticed the gauge doesn't go to F immediately after I fill up any more. Sounds like the unit was telling the car there was no gas available. I'll be ordering one and replacing it next weekend.

Hmmm, so does anyone know which sending unit is "sensor A" and which is sensor "B"? The repair manual seems silent on this.

**edit**
nevermind i found it in section FL-5. A is the one on the fuel pump itself. Not the stand alone sensor. Gonna see if I can do the q-tip method on this one vs. spending $170 in parts.

Pulled the fuel pump and the sending relay contacts were so filthy. I cleaned them up and put everything back together so hopefully that will resolve the issue. I'll post a DIY later.
