ANyone else have this fuel problem?

Well i got my 06 mt about a month ago, anyways this is about the 4th time i actaully had to fill up for gas. The last two times i tried to fill up, i couldnt fill my tank all the way. I thought it might be something wrong w/ the gas sensor since i rememebred reading it on this forum and i might have been just getting a false reading on the dash.. But this last time i filled up i only filled up 6 gallons before the gas pump clicked and wont let me fill anymore. And the time beofre this last time, i only got it up to about 75% full. Both times my tank was running low w/ ~275miles already. Anyone have/had this problem? wonder if the dealer is open tomorrow....arrrrgh...

faulty fuel reading

Sorry, no solution but I have a '05 6mt coupe that developed this problem the last four tank fulls. Can only fill up to 7/8, then after driving only 20 miles the guage reads 3/4 full. Haven't made it in to the dealer yet. I just assumed it to be the sending unit in the tank or something similar since it is now a constant problem.

I'm sure this has been covered.

I did have this problem and it's covered under warranty. They first replaced some stuff and it worked for only a few weeks but all in all they just replaced the gas tank and I have had no problem for a few months now. Good luck.

I'm surprised to hear this is still an issue with the 06 models. Since it's a known problem, you'd think Infiniti would have corrected it during the production run. Maybe your vehicle is an early production 06 model, produced before the problem was identified or the revised design part was available in sufficient quantity. In any event, see the following:

My 05' did it one time with one particular gas pump. Otherwise, no problems for over a year.

Oops! Should have had my glasses on and my brain in gear. I just reexamined the original post and saw that the driver has an 05 6MT, not an 06 6MT. The TSB only applies to the 03-05 model years, and apparently was corrected prior to the start of the 06 model run. My bad!

My 04 6mt did this too. I took it to the dealer and they replaced one of the two sending units.
I have a friend who is an Infiniti master tech and he actually did the work for me, said it's sort of trial and error as to which one of the two needs to be replaced.

Have this problem on my 04 too.. It happens pretty rarely, but still enough to **** me off.

I find it strange why Infiniti wouldn't address this issue on the 06 models as well, since it is a fairly common issue.

Wow, I thought I was the only one.
Sometimes when I goto fill up. the pump clicks instantly.. so I end up repositioning it with the nozzel in at different depths till I get it so constantly send gas with out clicking. It only happens at certain pumps though?? So I should take it to the dealer?

wow this happened to me for the first time last night i was at a newer shell and i was almost empty so i go to fill up and start pumping gas and it immediatly clicks off i ended up having to hold it at a steady spot half holding the lever to fill up a slow moving 17 gallons while it clicked on and off all along the way. heh i thought it was just a faulty fuel pump or stupid safety mechanism. apparently not.

'06 Coupe. Happened to me the first time about a week ago. I was hoping it was just the gas pump I used but it happened again this morning at a different station. Tank is near empty and I can only get 6 gallons in before the pump starts clicking off.

Check out this site: http://www.infinitihelp.com/Infiniti...upe/2005/2.htm for info -- there are a couple listings for this problem listed. (specificly bulletin # 05031)
It's a fairly common issue....
