Yes, the cubby cover closes fully, so you have it hidden when not in use. The faceplate was mounted onto two angled brackets, then glued to the inside of the flip cover. The SimpleCenter software that manages your songs is terrible, so I created playlists in Winamp and then imported them.

Some stupid things about Omnifi:
-If you remove songs because you need space to add new songs, it doesn't actually delete the files from the hard drive, so you run out of room
-Hard to navigate their menus to find songs you want
-Unit 'forgets' where you last left off and so when you turn on the car you have to wait for the hard drive to boot up and then you have to find the song you want to start on. I would usually just throw it into SHUFFLE mode though.

Best thing about Omnifi is the price. It should be on eBay for around $100. Since I don't have it installed anymore, I'm just going to use the 20GB drive as a portable HDD.

hmm so how do you free up space? if you can't delete anything, what if you run out? also why did you remove it, sounds like a great toy

I ended up clearing the HDD and re-loading songs on it every few weeks or so.

I don't have my G35 anymore, it was totalled. I have some of the Omnifi components but I didn't take out the faceplate and another box so I can't really use it anymore.

That feature's pretty much like the FatBox. I would appreciate it if they just put in a Carputer and allowed for USB 2.0 connections. 5400/7200 RPM 100GB HDD in a 2.5" or 1.8" external enclosure -- that's the way to go.
