Weird Noise Shutting Down
My 05 did the same thing for a couple of days. Noticed it when I pulled in to the garage with the windows down. No mods but I thought something was loose. Waited a couple of days and now it's normal. Or at least not doing it, lol.
It has to be the throw out bearing, with the clutch released the pressure plate is holding the clutch disk tight to the flywheel. Thus the only thing with no pressure on it is the throw out bearing. Perhaps look into a aftermarket throw out bearing if you ever upgrade your clutch/flywheel?
I also notice the sound when the window is down, sitting next to a wall or another car, echoing off of things. My maxima never made this sound, maybe I should steal that throw out bearing. XD

Ive been told that the g35 clutch is a piece of ****. My clutch vibrates when I accelerate in any gear and it rattles seldomly when I accelerate in 1st gear but no rattling while shutting down. I want an aftermarket clutch, I think thats the way to go to fix all the clutch problems.
It is definately the throw out bearing. I was confused by those noise for a while myself. The reason you only hear it when your clutch isnt depressed is because that is when there is no pressure on your clutch. The transmission goes through the throw out bearing and its always spinning when the car is on. Im not sure if what im saying makes sense, but im told this noise is normal.
i have an 06 6mt with now 1800 miles and my car does the exact same thing....a friend that i work with picked the car up 2 weeks after me and his car also does it. I dont care if every car does it, this is def NOT NORMAL at all. It's 100% the throwout bearing and there is 100% something wrong with it, im brining it in tomorow and im going to have this fixed.
