Weird Noise Shutting Down

Ok guys, I have a question for you. I am getting an odd noise from my clutch. When I shut the car off, I don't put it in gear, shut it off with my foot off the clutch and there is a rattling sound coming from it. Kinda like the sound of the clutch bouncing around. Now when I do keep the clutch depressed when shutting her down, the noise is gone.

Anyone have any idea what this may be?

Sounds like the throw out bearing. Could be normal depends on mileage.

I've had the same type of noise when I turn off the car. I don't know if I'd describe as you did, but I can say it sounds like a rattle/winding down noise. And I too DON'T get it the clutch is depressed.

I had another member tell me earlier when I first got my car that it's normal, and since a few of us have reported it, I have to say it is.

Hope this helps some Cloud_35

How can something like this be normal? It sounds like the damn clutch is rattling out of control and is not secure. My car never had this noise before. I'm gonna swing by the dealer today and see what they say. If any news comes about this, I will let you know.

It is normal, I think the noise is from the flywheel. Kind of a rattle/grind noise when you shut it off, but with the clutch depressed there is no noise. I think I posted the same thing when I first got my coupe

Enjoy!

I believe it is the throw out bearing. Push the clutch in when you shut it off and it won't do it. It is normal.

This is a common noise. I don't want to call it a problem because It is not one.

If you do a search, you should be able to find a good 40 or 50 posts about this issue between here and the other G/Z boards.

Mine does it sometimes too.

I have the same noise on my car when I shut it off. The only thing that worries me is that sometimes when I am in gear with the car running and and jump on it, I get a very similar sound, something rattling. Its not the axle click, i have had that too.....but it sounds like the throw bearing rattling when I hit the gas in gear.....anyone have something like this?

I just noticed this a min ago. I was pulling in the driveway and when I put it in nuetral it sounded like a metal disk being scraped. then when I shut down, heard it rattled and, like a piece of metal is bouncing around.
