shifting noobie

for all you 06 mt out there. when you shift gears do you hear like a little click sound and the car jerks a little while the clutch is engaging. sometimes i hear it and sometimes i dont. could i be shifting wrong or not giving enough gas? i usually shift at 2500-3000RPMs. where is every1 else shifting at for normal driving?

I try to shift at 3000, if I'm lazy 3500.
I think my clutch shifts smooth sometimes and other times it has quite a collection of sounds.

Let the clutch slip juuuust a little before you release entirely, that'll smooth it out so you dont get a quick jerk. The G's clutch has a much stronger pressure plate than the civics so it grabs harder and faster.

Yah I have to say in 600 miles I have yet to fully adjust from the audi late grab awd clutch feel to the G. Also rwd wheel spin is fun!

But it gets better and easier every day.

First drive of the g35 coupe I stalled....

Yeah. Just practice. It took me a while to adjust after coming from RX-7 with HEAVY clutch that is just so damn hard to drive to G... haha. G was easier to drive but it took me a while to be smooth.

Does anyone know if down shifting is good for the tran or using the brakes would be better for it?

lol, i agree that seat position is rather important. My 6MT clutch has a long way to the floorboard.

Smooth. My dumbass friends that don't know how to drive stick said it was jerky. Enough, they don't even know how the clutch works and were asking me about it.

Try turning VDC off. It tends to be much smoother when you shift.
