Would I be able to fit a 255/45 or 40 on my OEM rear rims?

 

are you talking about 18" or 19" 255/45 is too large for the 18" rims which are only 8" wide, I would not suggest it. For the 19" you could fit a 255, but 255/45 and 255/40 are both too tall, so you are kinda stuck with 245/40 in the rear.

 

There is a big thread about this for the 19" rims. I believe there is a member on this forum that bit 245/35/19 on the fronts and 275/35/19 on the rears with no problems.

 

What size are your OEM rims?

I have 255/45/18 on the rear, and 245/40/18 on the fronts. fits with no problems. had it on there for about 30000 miles. that setup rides much better than the stock. it looks much better as well. only prob, i wanted all season tires, which are not the easiest to find in those sizes. i believe the summer tires are more easy to find.
