Thanks guys.

That link was really helpful.

Yes, as it turns out brake pads (F + R) and front rotors are a couple of things that I'm replacing in my next service. Just waiting on the parts to arrive.

Cheers.

I have a similar problem. Brake light goes on intermitently (the one with the "(!)") . I topped off the brake fluid, ebrake is up.

I have not checked the pads, but its vdc and brake light for pads correct?

Have not noticed any change in braking or performance, but i've had the car only since wednesday

Okay, just read some other posts, it might be tire pressure, haven't checked it. Although, it doesn't get too cold in San Francisco, but its been real hot during the day and semi cold at night like. 65-70 day and at night it drops to no lower than 50 im thinking. It says 55degrees on the weatherchanel right now...

anything else it could be? Brake light sensor malfunction? i've heard of a recall.

Yeh the VDC and brake is for the pads. The (!) is for your tire pressure. If the (!) comes on with the brake and VDC i dont know what that means.

if you have aftermarket rims, this is normal. mine turns on after about 30 miles of highway driving.

Well tire pressure was the culprit. Im not used to having such advanced stuff on my car, I ran with a 98 240sx for a while with an rb25det and all i was worried about was perserving the engine =D.

Anyhow I think I'll get better gas mileage because my tire pressures were 20-25 all around...yikes, kinda low. I was gettin 14.4 mpg according to the navi

but its my first full tank of gas so, i was on it a little and i drive 3/4 city 1/4 hwy. Im hoping to get atleast 16mpg on the next tank with 3/4 city 1/4 hwy.

I had the same problem after changing out my brakes to a BBK setup. Just top off your brake fluid and everything should settle down...

Make sure the system is cold and fill up the fluid to just a hair under the max line. All the lights should go off.

EXACTLY!

I changed out the rotors, pads, added Stainless brake lines, and DOT 4 fluid,
then got the same problem with the warning lights.
I topped off the fluid to -just- below the max line, and everything was fine.
