Thoughts on a new custom front bumper and hood

Here is a quick photoshop of what I think would be an awesome hood and bumper combo. I was shooting for a larger grill shaped like those on the FX and M, but larger and more menacing like the new Audi's.

I think it almost looks better on the thumbnail, as the large picture looks bad, but you get the idea. I might spend some more time on this and get it looking good.

Check it out next to the original picture (I blacked out the grill in both for an accurate comparison).

Your thoughts.

Reminds me a bit of the style seen on the GT-R concept.

Couple of things:

1. The center grill opening drops too low. The top of the bumper structure will show... ...unless a cool shroud could be incorporated to cover the unsightly stuff and also direct more air through the radiator.

2. What's located behind the two smaller openings on the hood that would be seen and might be unable to relocate? ...Of course, a similar shroud idea could do good here as well.

I do give props for the creativity. It might be questionable for some (as was the GT-R concept), but I've seen worse bodykits already in production and being purchased by people.

That could never work because you have the grill included in the front bumper. The front bumper comes out forward, so that means the grill would not be directly straight down. It would have to come out and then down again.

Thanks for the feedback guys, and for the extra ideas by GT-Ron. I know that it might look like it won't work by the way I have it done now, but trust me, this could be done. You could have a raised section on the hood that flowed over the current grill, then met up with the front of the Nismo bumper. The side holes where the current grill is could be covered in a mesh material, and so could the main front grill. I know I could make it work, I custome fabricated a metal widebody for my S2000, which was a much larger undertaking.

This would actually be easy if I could find a fiberglass hood as a starting point, as the new stuff would be easiest to do with fiberglass, and it does not like to bond as well to metel. All the hoods I see are carbon fiber, so if anyone knows of a good fiberglass one, let me know.
