5AT vs. 6MT perf on G35C
5AT vs. 6MT perf on G35C
I'm in the market for an auto and really love the G35C. What is the perf. like between the auto and the stick, I previously owned a 350Z 6MT and know I'll be looking at an overall perf. downgreade but how bad is the at vs. the mt on 2003 G35C's?
I owned an 03 5at G, it isnt bad, but .... if you had an mt before, you will get bored with it, as I did with the one I had. As to the performance difference I think its about .3-.4s in the 1/4 mile and about .2s to 60mph. So overall the performance diference isnt huge for just driving around, but if you enjoy the much greater controll of the manual, then you will regreat the auto.
just as said above, its a WHOLE different game. i had an 03 5AT 350z and i jumped into the 6MT G35 coupe. its a whole diff story man no joke. my 350z was probably faster w/ the mods and all and light weight, but even when my G was stock it even FELT faster, you are in direct contact with the tranny and engine.
if you have honestly driven the manual in this car i dont think you can go to the auto. its ju8st not even close to begin as fun

if AT, i recommend an 05' or later for the auto-rev matching feature it has
for downshifts. should feel similar to a SMG before entering a turn.
for me AT's are great for the commute. i hate driving MT to work, hense
i don't drive my G35C during the week.

I like my Auto and I for sure don't regret getting it.. I had a 2000 Mustang Saleen and I just got tired of the MT.. This car is very sporty but most people forget it's a luxury car.
