Hey man,

My very first car was a 1980 RX-7 and I loved that car

My 2nd car was a 1985 RX-7 and that was a horse as well...

From there I went to a Toyo 4-runner until I got my "G"

The RX-7 is a GREAT car and you don't have to worry about reliability issues very much at all. You can't go wrong w/ that call...

For me it was a decision between the "G" and the RX-8... I am SOOOOOOO glad I went with the "G" instead of the "8". I love this car and it brings a different emotion to me than with any other previous car I have owned. I have a 2004 I bought new in Nov of 03 and I now am closing on 60K miles. I have had ZERO engine problems and this thing can take hard driving and just beg for more pounding.

The thing you gotta look at is how much you want to spend and the tuning potential of each car. I believe the RX-7 has more tuning potential than the "G" does but it does not turn heads like the "G" and for me the "G" is plenty fast...

Good luck on your decision, this is something you need to decide for yourself... It is a very personal decision kinda like picking out a wife, well.... actually I spend more time in my "G" than I do my wife, so come to think about it...

I used to love the 3rd gen rx-7's and wanted one back in the day, but Those boosted rotaries are unreliable, and only few select shops can work with them, and you may be paying a lot to fix it in the long run. With that said, the rx-7 is more sporty, and is faster, but the g is refined and has a little taste of everything speed, luxury, style. Both great cars but in the end the rx-7 is more than 10 years old.

POOR POOR FD!!!! anyways if you looking for tuning potential go with the FD, but if you looking for a powerful, reliable luxurious car id say go with the G
