PerformanceNissanParts.com site hack

Guys,

I already know that there has been a post about a month ago on this subject, but I feel that it is important enough to say again.

In case no one was aware, performancenissanparts.com had their website hacked and random info stolen from their database sometime ago. Letters were sent out regarding this issue to anyone who had made purchases.

As it turns out, they were not joking. Just yesterday I discovered over $1,000 of fraudulent charges to my credit card for such things as cash wires to Europe, bill payments to England, and other crazy charges. The details of my particular experience are not important. What matters is that the rest of you are aware of this issue. Don't do what I did and disregard the letter that was sent out. If you have bought anything from them at any point, I would heavily consider having your credit card information changed immediately.

Just a heads up. If this does not apply to you, disregard.

Later troops.

I did the same.
Call the 800# on the back of your card, explain what happened and tell them you want a new account number for your existing account.
They send out new cards in a few days, but if you push it, they will overnight.

does it matter if you actually walked into the store and paid with a c.c. or is it just online purchases?

Well, depends on your situation. When i want parts that they don't carry, they have me go online to place the order. I still had to put my CC number in and in the notes, i just put "local customer - will pick up in-store".

Even though i'm a walk-in customer, my CC info was still on the site.

The second i got that letter, i called and had my CC cancelled and they sent out a new one for me.

Yeah, I got the same letter and then I called my credit card company to get a new card with a new number. I went to Performance Nissan in Duarte, CA to purchase my mods. Good thing I got that letter so I can change my info. I hope bad Karma gets those hackers...
