2006 Splash Guards are expensive!

So I went to my dealer to see if they had any DB splash guards in for the sports package coupe. He told me they dont carry them in stock
beacuse they need the VIN number from the car. I had to leave my car there for awhile because one of my TPS sensors was going crazy(turns out I had a nail in my tire). When I pick up my car he has the price quote for me:
$142 FRONT AND $142 REAR!!! That is insane! He told me that was installed but that is way too much for splash guards. I have found them on the internet for $140 for all 4. I think I will do the install myself.

people have noted many times before- it's a really simple install. i just installed mine last weekend- just takes some time to pull the wheels off and get them on. you drill 6 holes total, 1 in each front, and 2 in each rear. that's the most nerve-racking part, and it's really straight forward.

don't pay the dealership a dime over $150 for the guards- you'll have no trouble installing them.

You can get them for $142 for ALL FOUR from the dealership. You need to tell them to look at that part number again!!!

As for the install, it's really easy. You can install all four, including jacking up the car and removing the wheels, in an hour if you're good with stuff like that. At the most you'll spend 90 minutes on it, and could do it in 30 if you have an air wrench to remove the tires. One thing that you'll need that doesn't come with the units is more double sided tape. They come with a small strip on the front ones and a couple of small strips on the rears. What you're looking for is ½" ~ ¾" 3M body molding tape. It's REALLY strong and the same stuff that's already on there, just more of it. Another thing you'll want to make sure to do is get a few more alcohol wipes to remove ALL TRACES of wax or polish from where the tape needs to stick.

Don't worry about getting them on wrong as the body lines are perfect to line them up with. Just make sure you trial fit them several times and you'll see what I'm talking about. Once you see them in place where they should be, you'll know it right away.

Be careful if you buy them on the internet, the front splashes are 06 specific. Otherwise it wouldn't fit. The dealer messed up and ordered the wrong front splashes for my 06. I had to wait another 4 days for it to come in.

Anyway, they(cerritos infiniti) were kind enough to not charge me the labor since they made such a gaffe.

Not sure if it was different on the previous models, but the instructions explicitly call for the drilling of 6 holes on the '06 model (can't imagine how that would be different, actually...)

There have been a number of people on the forum that have just go the route of getting additional 3m tape and securing the guards without drilling at all- but i went the orthadox route.
