Drifting Right?

New to the Forum--
My G35c tends to drift to the right. The dealer said this is normal since most roads are crowned for drainage and the fact that the G35c hugs the road so tightly. This "drift" seems to be more than other cars I've owned (however, my other cars didn't handle like a G35c).

Has anyone else noticed experienced this drift?

Re: Drifting Right?

To some, it literally is the road. To some, it's a legit problem. If I drive on the wrong side of a two-day road, my car slightly drifts to the left. If on the right side; to the right. On a divided highway-- straight as an arrow. Try different situations to see what happens, because it can be a legitimate problem if it occurs in all situations. Then, talk to your dealer. A few people on here have had this prob, so do a search on "drifts right" and "dealer" and you should find some posts. Good luck,

G

Re: Drifting Right?

Hey,

I have had the same problem. I took the car to my dealer twice and they have tried to do alignments and such, and it still does this... There was a post on this back in May sometime and some people said that it was actually due to the tires... because the car was shipped on a boat and tied to the boat with the tires under that pressure the whole time... therefore, there could be some warpage or anomaly in the tire induced by frieghting... People came to this conclusion because when they changed their tires (by putting on new rims, etc), the driving was straight as an arrow...

You know that you have a problem when you drive on a road that is banked both ways and no matter what side you are on, it drifts to the right.... as was the problem with my car.

Try your dealer and if they don't find anything, take a ride with their technician on a road as I mentioned above and show them.. Good luck,

Jaime

Re: Drifting Right?

this is a known problem kids, here is the TSB for it. I've had it done and it resovles this issue. Your dealership should know this. They performed this on my ride no questions asked.

Re: Drifting Right?

Redwillow hit it right on the head. I had the same symptoms in my coupe, inside of 2K miles. I took it to the dealer, and they confirmed a faulty compression rod. It was replaced in 1 1/2 hours and then I was on my way.

Re: Drifting Right?

I just recieved delivery of my 04 Coupe one week ago.. It is a July production car and drifts to the right. I have spoken to another Fresh alloy member who has an S order that also drifts to the right.. Why isn't Infiniti addressing the TSBs? Not a good sign!! Why must we go to the dealer when Infiniti had more than ample time to correct these problems? Are the 04 Cars coming into this country with the same problems from 2003?

uhh, yes, from what i have heard, it appears that (most if not all of) the TSB issues were NOT corrected on the 04 models.

At least they are fairly minor things, but still annoying.

Re: Drifting Right?

Hi Redwillow,

I also had my compression rod replaced and although my vehicle doesn't drift as much to the right anymore, it still does drift. That is why I mentioned something about the tires.
