WOW engine turn off at high speeds again
Ok this is the second time this has happened to me. im driving home and decided bah nice day not many cars why not punch it a bit. i im in 5th gear going about 150kmph and then slow down because there are cars in front. i leave the car engaged in 5th and start breaking. then i notice all the lights on my dash and think damm what happened. so i turn on the off ramp and my power steering is gone, then i realize my damm engine shut off on my again!
i understand that a few other people have had this problem, is there a fix yet? or should i bring it in to the dealer for them to pick apart. i have a stillen intake and thats about it, could it be that there is too much air or too little air going to the engine? whats your expierences with this problem

Is it possible for the engine to completely shut off when you are still in gear and rolling at ~60-100 mph? And so smoothly that you wouldn't notice that your engine is no longer running?
How did you get out of the situation. Just coasted until you could stop in a safe place and just restart the engine? The only cases I've experienced w/ aftermarket filter related stalls is only during idle or out of gear after acceleration. The suggestions to look at the MAF and throttle body are good places to start. However, i would just swap out the stillen box back to stock and take it in to dealer. You don't want them to blame a faulty MAF or blow it off by saying it is your intake mod. Your going to have to be able to reproduce the stall during a ride-along if they can't find anything or if they can't see anything in the error log.

Anyways, do a search, from what I've seen, whenever something like this, it is either the MAF or the CAI. I've seen more from the CAI then from the MAF, but I have seen both. It is always when the car is in gear and slowing down or turning a corner. Like everyone else said, take it to the dealer. If they can't find anything wrong with it, maybe it is the CAI. Did this happen before when you had the CAI?

Best bet seems like the MAF. However, all the accounts of MAF failures I heard were that the car would go into a "safe mode" and just prevent reving past 3k rpms. Another possiblility could be the crank position sensor. I had an Altima before my G which has the same VQ engine and there was a recall on the sensor causing complete shutdown of the car even at highway speeds. I would highly doubt our cars have this faulty sensor, but it could be a possibility based on your experiences.
