Re: HID Fog Lights???
I think the dealer meant that the fog lights are integrated into the headlamp assembly (rather than having the headlights, and then the fog lights mounted on the lower front bumper). To turn on your fog lights, just twist the inner part of the signal stalk the same direction that you twist to turn on the headlights.

Re: HID Fog Lights???
Did you actually replace the fogs with HID's or just whiter Halogens? I haven't seen anyone do this conversion yet. I am interested in where you located the ballasts and how you wired it to the factory wiring. Thanks for the info HELL. Peace.

Re: HID Fog Lights???
Hey guys,
I think there is a misunderstanding. So far, I have only replaced my stock fog light bulbs with these Quartz Halogen 90W/100W 5100K fog light bulbs (they only LOOK like Xenons, but they are regular Halogen bulbs). I am looking into a true HID Xenon kit for my fog lights....I just don't know if it will actually help the lighting and where I would put the ballasts, and do the wiring (all that stuff is way over my head). I'm pretty sure somebody on this forum or FreshAlloy has a G35 Sedan with HID Xenon fog lights...I should try to find that guy.
As for the JDM fog light kit that goes in the front spoiler, that is way too expensive at $1,500. For $800 + cost of new headlamp assembly + iinstallation (I figure $1,500 at MOST), I can get custom-fabricated projector Xenons done (which would completely solve my xenon problems).
But overall, I am pretty happy with the 90W/100W fog light bulbs that I put in...they helped the lighting and so far I have had no problems (regarding heat and melting the wiring and stuff).

Re: HID Fog Lights???
I could be wrong, but I don't think you can do that. The reason being is, to my understanding, true HID's are only 1 beam and your fog lights are actually 2, functioning as fogs on low, and you highbeams on high. So if you replaced your fogs with HIDs, you wouldn't have High beams anymore. That would be illegal.

There's this company that makes HID kits for H4's that has both low beam and high beam functions. When you want the high beams it retracts and when you want the fog lights it extends out like in the pic.

Here's the link where I found it from: HidKits.com
