Hey guys......alright my girlfriend loves the G35 coupe but the new Acura TL has caught her eye. I can't decide on chich one to buy her! Option for option the Acura has a few more but is still front wheel drive and is a four door.

The Acura has true bi-xenon projector headlights, L.E.D tailights as well as red and blue dash lights, 8 inch screen for the voice recognition navigation, 6.1 DVD surround sound stereo, bluetooth technology and dual exhaust pipes like the G35 coupe...

And as for the coupe, we all know this car is badass, but I was wondering if anyone has driven the Acura TL. Is it as fast as the G35 and does the exhaust sound good? Any opinions.....?

The TL is a very nice car, but it's not in the same performance class as the G. The CL is faster, but still not as fast or agile as the G. Still, the main reason for me is that they are styled to win yawning contests; I'd rather get an ES300 if I wanted that look. I never even considered the Acura based on looks alone.

They won’t be out until Oct. 6th I believe. But the new TL looks very promising with lots of cool new features and gadgets.

The only thing that I don’t like about the TL is that it only has 238 Lbs. of torque and it isn’t available till 5000RPMS. Also the tranny problem, which I’ve heard that even some 2003 TL’s have been effected. Oh and it’s also FWD (aka, wrong wheel drive)[img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

thanks for the replies....I was talking to the salesman at Acura and told him I wanted to buy my girl the G35 and he said Ohh that is such a nice car and the engines last and the tranny is rock solid. He had no complaints on the G, and then came the discussion on the New Acura which he test drove and said it was a nice Four Door and had some cool gagdets.....he told me to wait until October 6th and to test drive the car. Two things i dont like is the fact it is four door and probably doesnt have a sexy exhaust note. Oh and that it is front wheel drive....

I got rid of my 2003 TL-S but don't get me wrong. I love the luxuries that come with the car I never experience the tranny problem that you mentioned. I few things I didn't like is the clumsy drive when going on a twisty mountain side. It has a significant body role when negotiating curves. Another thing I didn't like is the oil leak I got from a defective cam seal the radiator hose came loose for some reason had to get the car towed to the dealer. Didn't pay for anything it's just that all this little annoying things happening to it. Before getting rid of it I could smell something burning coming from the hood. Don't know what it was but I think it was the oil from all the leak it developed. And last but not least the the brake rotor is warpped after only 14k on it I had to get is shaved to function properly.

The G35 is a totally different car just because it's a rear wheel drive car it handles differently than a FWD. But then again I drive a coupe now not a sedan. I know that the new 2004 TL came out already I saw one last weekend on a truck being delivered to the dealer.

Why does the exterior remind me of a Grand Am..... I keep looking at it and it screams Grand Am to me. I love the interior but the body does not do it justice.

Or it looks like a TSX but behind the rear doors they welded on an extension.

I like it a lot. The interior is excellent, seems like honda has been doing a great job with it lately. The exterior, front is very nice and aggresive side and back just ok.

It looks like the Acura TSX and the pontiac Grand AM has gotten it on.....and had a kid...now this new TL is the out come....but i love the iterior....
