2005 G35 AT with 6,500 miles. My question: is the exhaust really supposed to be this loud? It sounds like there's a hole in the muffler or something, but I know there isn't. Is it normal? Could there be something else causing it? Do other sportscars sound like this?

a easy way to test this is test drive another g35, or hop in a friend's g35.

if it sounds the same... i don't know what to tell ya.

I for one am pretty much keeping the G35 solely for the exhaust note and the all-in-one goodness it has. It really doesn't have much else going for it, other than the exhaust note and the fact that it is generally a good car.

 

Not saying I don't like it, just want to know if it's normal.

Anyways jinubob81 pretty much nailed it. Find another G and jump in for a quick ride. You can go as far as going to a dealership and pretend your interested and get a test drive...
