Have to sell my G

Will start a new job position soon. It will be approx 100 miles roundtrip. With gas prices so high I can't afford to keep my G. I will buy a TSX or something small???

I only have 8,100 miles. Purchased on Aug 2005. And I have a set of 17" winter tires/wheels set-up. Will post pics tomorrow. Great condition and garage kept. I'm in St. Louis, MO for now.

Chris

UPDATE:

Guess what guys...??? I don't have to sell my G.

There was another position I accepted and that location is only 15 miles one way. And there's still a pay increase so I am happy. So... glad this turned out well b/c I did not want to give up my car or sell my house to move closer to work.

Thank you everyone... this forum is great!!!

I am pretty sure those are not 17"s that are stock. He says they are his winter set up so it is most likely that he bought them aftermarket.

the amount of money you're gonna lose on trade-in negates any effect of gas prices. Don't forget you also lose on the sales tax and license fees of the G when you first bought it, which is roughly around $4K. I don't think you're gonna save over $4K in gas by switching to a TSX (well, maybe after 10 years...lol). keep the G dude.

Its funny to me how people are over hyping the actual impact of the raise in gas prices to their actual bottom line.

The stock are 19" on the Sports package. I have an extra sets of wheels (17" Voxx with Falken Ziex) for winter use.

If you're gonna do that many miles a day...get something that will REALLY have an impact on your gas savings. Like a Civic hatch.

My 93 DX hatch gets close to 40mpg if I baby it.

Assuming he can somehow manage to squeeze 25 mpg out of his G, and conservatively saying the TSX will only average about 30 mpg on regular unleaded, he stands to save about $1,000 a year on gas alone at today's prices. Factor in lower insurance and maintenance costs, and he stands to save a bundle. ****, if he keeps the G he's going to spend about a grand every 9 months just on tires! I love my G, but I wouldn't use it as a primary driver if I had to commute 100 miles every day.

Maybe a Mini Cooper S or GTI?

its true you gonna lose a bundle on the trade in, about 4k at least, unless someone can take over payments or sell it privately...dealers are the biggest rip off when you take in a trade in, even if your G is babied and clean with mods...they dont give a f*** theyll rip you off...id say either car pool or just ride on cheaper tires and drive as stable as you can...thats if u cannot find anyone to take your G without lossing a bundle good luck ...
