GCoupe from a ZRs Perspective

So I stole my buddy's GCoupe for the next week. Coming from a ZRoadster, I found myself so damn comfortable driving around the GCoupe it was kind of depressing. Do I regret not getting a GCoupe? No, but damn is it making me think about getting it.

Basic Specs:
06, Revup, 6MT, Diamond Graphite? This Gc is no where near stock, but I thought I'd share my impressions.

Power:
If I remember, his car is full bolt ons less Cams. Well, my ZR is SC so I am not sure exactly how I can review the power specs of his car. It sounds nice though with the HFC and Stillen Exhaust and it was really refreshing being able to hear myself think. Although there is this horrible rattle coming from the exhaust which I'll be taking a look at this weekend. It felt good though.

Suspension:
His suspension rides so nice I just can't believe. I think he is on Tokico Shocks (DSpecs maybe?) and H-Tech Springs and it allows you to feel all of the bumps and turns in the road, but it doesn't throw the car or you around. Very comfortable and yet still has the sportiness.

Audio:
Diamond Audio FTW!

Creature Comfort:
OMG, I hate you people. Dual Climate, Nav, XM, Back Seats, A trunk that holds stuff.

Overall:
Come Fall time, I may go find a GCoupe, and possibly get rid of my Roadster.

Ps. Don't tell the Z/ ZR people. kthxbai.

Driving one was all it took for me to scratch my other options (330ci, B6 S4) off the list... Aside from rattles, I have very few complaints!

I was so dead set on getting a vert, I didn't even bother trying the G. Now the Vert is starting to loose its appeal and the G is taking the forefront for replacement vehicle.

Oh, my ZR is a 5AT too, and driving in the 6MT is more fun. Eh, I still like my 5AT, but the 6MT is definately fun. His Shift **** is a little big (Momo) but he's much larger than me, so I assume it fits him better.

Awesome, I honestly love the Z myself even though I've got a G. I drive my cousin's Z every now and then and it feels a little quicker than my car and feels lighter but I would never trade my car for a Z I love the luxury you get with it.

I don't know how to explain it, but the G feels heavy. Not sluggish, but more like it's just a big object to move.

Was a nice impartial write up. I myself probably would've gotten a Z, until I got in the g and drove around for a little bit. Don't get me wrong, the Z isn't uncomfortable, but I found the ride of the g a little plusher than the Z. I like both and sadly enough the one thing that made me go the other way was the heat didn't work. Normally this wouldn't have been a big deal, but it was a very cold November morning, and I could see my breath inside the car, and my hands were numb. Overall though the Z was great, handled very well, and was very predictable.

I like our 5AT G Coupe so much I want a 6MT Z convertible BAD !!! Looks? G is better, but driving a 6MT convertible with 300bhp .... priceless. As close as it gets to riding a motorcycle full tilt without a helmet without having to worry about it. Then again, there is always a Lotus or an S2000
