Help! lost wheel lock key

The title says it all. I was wondering is there a way to reference which key I have so I can take my wheels off?

I just went through this exact scenario. I went to change my springs this weekend, and realized that somehow I had misplaced the wheel lock.

I went to the dealer, and they told me I could order locks by quoting the number on the package that came with my original locks. Since I couldn't find the package and didn't want to wait a week for the new locks to come in, I just had them remove the locks from my car with a master, and bought new ones.

I wont lose thes new ones!

as long as you registered them with Mcgard just call the 800 number and order another one

The Nissan locks were McGard, when I bought mine, I purchased an extra key, better safe than sorry IMO!

You can get the wheel locks off pretty easy, and then just buy new ones. All you need to do is make a notch in the wheel lock, then use a chisel and hammer and hammer the things counter clockwise. My friend lost hers, and I had them all off in about 15 minutes. Just goes to show how much they would do in the real world.

Thanks guys. I called the dealer I bought the car from and they say they do not keep records of which locks I have. So I am going to get them taken off at discount tire.

Any competent dealer should have a master McGard key set. My parts department and service department both have their own set. Usually when a customer loses their key, all I need them to do is come down to our dealership and I will match the lock on their car. The master set usually contains 10-20 keys and you have to go through each one till you find the one that fits...then you call mcgard and ask for key #123 and they will ship one to the dealer.

Hell, I would even take the ones off for most customers.

Yeap... dealership did it for me once at no charge AND gave me 4 standard wheel nuts to put back on... all for nothing.

Totally my fault and the dealer stepped up. Talk about customer service!!

My wife remembered that I went to the dealer two weeks ago I had my axels repaired for the clicking noises, and they probably lost it. Because I am really good about not losing things like tools, etc. (I love my wife ) So I went to the dealer and told them that I think the tech forgot to put it back in the trunk. After talking to the advisor for awhile he decided to do it for free and replace the lock with regular lugs. I can't believe the dealer stepped up! I am calling Infiniti tommorow and complementing the service advisor.
