G35 Sedan- Where on earth are the RACE / TOURING / COMPETITION cars?! non-existant?
Hi all fellow forumites,
I'm a racing fanatic, and follow all sorts of race leagues (touring cars are my fav).
Any major sedan I can think of, has had some version of it officially raced, or in some type of racing event. Most of these cars are manufacturer backed, but a lot are not. You can see racing versions of these saloons, many of which are quite less sporty then the G35!
So my question is, where on earth are the G35/V35 touring or race cars? Someone caging a street-car does not qualify. I'm looking for a purpose-built race car. Has anyone, or any company done it with the G35/V35 sedan?
There are race-car conversions of all these boring sedans, and more:
- All BMW 3 and 5 series
- Audi A4's, A6's
- Lexus (Toyota) IS, Camry, Prius (Yes there is a prius competition car)
- Honda- accord, civic, even the legend (spoon AWD auto legend competed in the 24hour this year)
- Mazda 6
- Mercedes - C-class, E-class, etc
- Caddy- CTS
... and more...
Heck, even the taurus and camry get representation in NASCAR.
So my point is, many sedans that are quite boring have been converted into a TRUE competition car. So why not the G35/V35 sedan? I haven't been able to find any pictures or information.
(The Red/White nismo skyline safety car does not count)
------------------------------------
So far, I've only been able to find a select few G35 coupe race cars, including the K+N time attack car, falken g35 drift car, and signal auto time attack car. These don't even qualify as a wheel-to-wheel competition car.
Did the 350z's suck away all our racing representation?

there was suppose to be two coupes in Grand-Am or Rolex 24(Gt div), forgot which one, but didn't see them at any of the races........kinda sucks seeing RX-8s, Acura RSX-s, yes that little car, and some of the above mentioned cars on the circuits racing.........but, no g35 anywhere.......is it because they have the 350Zs racing already.?
