how serious is this problem?
I also want to know how serious this is? I'm planning a 1200 mile trip in two weeks that will be before my next service. Should I have this taken care of before I go or can I wait until the next service? (next service in 2800 miles)

I have this same problem and I only have 10,000 miles on the car.

So, does anybody have an idea if this is serious? I want to know if I should have it looked at before going on a long trip or can I wait until my next scheduled service? The noise seems to be happening more often. However I don't feel anything funny in the way the car handles or drives. Thanks.

IMHO, it isn't anything that has a high probability of inducing any mechanical failure, it might sound bad..but as long as the fix incldues only re-lube and retighten stuff, you should be safe with the long trip.

my 2 cents

Personally i would bring it in to get it fixed, mine happened at 32500 miles on my 04 coupe. Either way if it fails you still got the car under warranty

Mine just started doing this yesterday. I didn't give it any thought but after reading this it "clicked" what it was... pun intended

2005 with 7,500 miles.

I continue to experience this problem. I was told several things by a local dealership. Something called the "parcel" (sp?) shelf in the rear may be rattling or loose. But when I took it into the dealership they told me that they could not "reproduce" the rattle therefore they could do nothing.

I was also told that perhaps my ears were too sensitive.
That Nissan used cheap parts on the car.
That if I turned the radio up louder it would drown out all the rattles.

All this came from the Service Manager.

What dealer is this? I go to Clear Lake Infiniti and they have always been excellent in service.

But I hate when the service dept doesn't go the extra mile to find things like this. Very frustraiting.

Here's a tip... If you raise the car so the wheels are off the ground, the click goes away for a while. I told my dealer about it after they had it on the hoist. The noise didn't start right away so they though they had fixed it while doing other work. It's back...

i had a similar sound. I took mine in and they told me that it was a loose heat shield. So they took it back and tightened it up and the clicking stopped.
