Re: Package vs Aerodynamic Body Kit

I haven't driven a G35 without the aerodynamic body kit anymore than a normal test drive would allow. They say that the rear wing actually does produce downforce and allow the car to have a .26 coefficient of drag. But really it's the styling difference. I like the coupe nose cone on mine. The side skirts and rear valance give it a lower look. The wing is nice and understated. you can see pics of my car with the aerodynamic body kit here https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...sed&sb=5&part=

Re: Package vs Aerodynamic Body Kit

You're probably not going to notice any difference in handling unless you're going really fast. Handling is more dependent on the suspension setup.

Did you see the difference in drag coefficiant? It went from .27 to .26.

It's not going make any noticeable difference unless you're mario andretti and you're doing 140 in it.

Re: Package vs Aerodynamic Body Kit

Not much difference in handling at a cruising speed. In theory, it's going to increase high speed stability at about 80 and above. However, since my G came with the Areo kit and I've never tested one without the Areo, I couldn't really tell what the difference would be. But My G is very stable at high speed around 80-100-not sure whether or not it's attributed to the Areo kit reducing the down force.

Re: Package vs Aerodynamic Body Kit

uhhhhh, you mean increasing the down force right? Reducing would harm performance and do exactly the opposite of it's purpose. 1/100 of a change in coefficient of drag is nothing and it's supposed to help in speeds over 100.

If you're looking to buy it, buy it for looks because that's what it's for.

Re: Package vs Aerodynamic Body Kit

I have to tell you that I noticed a huge difference between the G35 with the aerodynamic package. That .001 difference in drag is huge. It made me look 10 pounds thinner. My wife had a good hair day. It allowed my son to get a 100 % on a spelling test at school. The sky was sunny that day and a 13 year old girl in the midwest discovered that all matter is just energy condensed to a slow vibration. So if you considering buying a car with the aerodynamic package, I say do it.

I agree with shodog! But he forgot to mention that when you buy Happy Meals with an aero body kit, the meals are actually HAPPY!!!

thanks for letting me set the record straight.

Re: Package vs Aerodynamic Body Kit

Really? I would not think 0.001 difference in drag coefficient
would be very noticable......But I have been known to be wrong before!

Re: Package vs Aerodynamic Body Kit

The difference in the drag coefficient isn't enough to make a noticable difference, but one of the major points to the kits is zero lift both front and rear at all speeds. Or at least thats what they claim. If anyone has experienced lift at a high speed (120-140) it is not fun.

Yeah, but you know, we don't have any reason to be going
120-140 mph!

The dates have expired on both of those.
Need to wait until next year to do this?
