this may be related to the brake switch recall. Check with your dealer
The brake switch cancels the cruise control so this malfuntion may be because of the switch

My G is still fairly new (bought on 9/7)... and I've experienced the same thing... especially when trying to resume speed after I've changed gears. Playing around, I found a quick flick of the button doesn't always work, and I can get it to resume if I hold the button for a moment.

I use mine everyday and it's flawless (since Feb 2003).

Oh I see: ...last time checked my cruise control was before having the brake switch recall. "On/Off" switch works but it won't "SET."

You're going above 30mph, right?

Yeah; I tested it at 55mph. Anyways, Infiniti service will take a look at it on friday. Thanks.

If you have a 6MT and have adjusted the clutch engagement point this can happen--but I doubt that's the issue here.

It also doesn't work when traveling over 90mph... safety feature, I guess. Sucks though.

it doesn't? i remember seeing that someone took a pic of when they were going about 135mph or so and their cruise control light was on. *shrugs* ah, oh well, maybe i'm hallucinating again.
