Switching out the beige console buttons with black

Switching out the beige console buttons with black
I have a sedan with the tan interior and was wondering how hard it would be to switch the tan radio and vent buttons with the black ones from the gray interior. How do you remove the center console covering and are the buttons just "floating". Thanks.
