Way to tell Upgrade Packages

Is there a way to tell what package/s (sport, luxury, whatever) are installed on a car besides the dealer's word?

VINs, interior buttons, make of the brakes, etc?

If the car is an AT and has the homelink mirror and rear AC it has the lux package. If it has red struts it has the sport package. I know for my year (04) the wheels were 5 spoke for sport and 6 spoke for non-sport.

I looked at the factory manual on VIN. The VIN does not seem to ID option packages, only options like number of doors (i.e. sedan or coupe) & transmission. The other nameplate will have codes for body & interior color, leatherr seats., but no other options like suspension, navi, etc.

Have dealer produce the build sheet (or sticker). I'm sure he can fom the VIN. If they sell you parts, they need the VIN to get it right.

Not sure about the X's. I would think they have different struts but if you have options with it then there should still be an easy way to tell. Maybe....

Ask the service guys at the dealer. The reps might not know but the tech's would.

I have the sport package, but somehow, the struts aren't red. Maybe '06 is different.

VIN is the most accurate.. but also the hardest way of getting info...unless you know someone at a dealer

Maybe they are. Looks like that method is out.

06's don't have red struts. They changed them from red Tokico to I believe black H&R struts on the 06(on mine it looks like there is and HR logo on them).

BTW, the X doesn't even have a sports option. The 6MT comes standard with the sports package.

i have an 05 seadan from what i understand there are 2 "packages" that were offered. Sport and Premiem. 6MT come standard w/ sport, ways to tell if it has premiem are reclining rear seats, auto dim rear mirror, dual climate, homelink, memory seats, and a few others ie. bose 6 disc indash... i think the easiest way to tell is the dual climate and reclining rear seats.
