NAV acting Up

Is anyone else having NAV problems...IE, for the last week, if I turn the car on there's a 75% chance the NAV will freeze up and never display the map and go to black or constantly say please standy by...

Ironically, this coincides with the exact same time I installed my grounding kit and Valentine One...is there any way, shape or form either of those could be interfering with the NAV? I doubt it, but the dealer will look for any way out ya know...

Re: NAV acting Up

i would replace grounding kit since that does deal with electronics. Why would you ever install the grounding kit anyways?

Re: NAV acting Up

The dealer had a Software TSB for any NAVs that were freezing up...it seems to be all set now.

Re: NAV acting Up

Have you run the Navi diagnostic? My DVD was actually scratched, which was totally random... Technically, it was a problem with the DVD manufacturer (Zenrin), as they ship the Nav boxes to Infiniti with the DVDs in them, and testing every single DVD in all modes of operation would be needlessly redundant for Infiniti. Regardless, my dealership gave me a new DVD out of new car and went after Zenrin to get a replacement for them... pretty cool.

Run the diagnostic, then just get a new DVD-- that's the TSB, I believe. No hardware/firmware upgrades, just the software.

Good luck,

Re: NAV acting Up

My DVD was fine, I checked it a few tims actually. The dealer actually did a firmware upgrade via a DVD that, acording to the TSB instructions, actually upgrades the inner system. They then put the original DVD back in.

Hopefully it holds up.

Interesting-- any change in the "OS"?

I haven't even used it yet...if it's anything worth posting about...good or bad...I definitely will.

Re: NAV acting Up

Used it all morning...worked like a charm...no noticable changes, unless they are embedded in the options and services part of the programming which I have not used since yesterday.

Re: NAV acting Up

Good to hear, man! I wonder if Infiniti will ever come up with a firmware upgrade to take advantage of some of the other options they could do with the integration of certain sensors. My guess is no, but hey, it'd be pretty cool...
