FX35 AWD and G35X

Brough my G35 in for another round of rattles and brake squeal fixes and received a brand new FX35 as the loaner. As nice and luxurious as the FX35 is, I found it to be slow and not responsive. This raise the question as to how fast can the G35X get? with all the AWD hardware, the weight will surely increase, I doubt the G35X will be faster the it's RWD couter part. What do you guy think?

Also, FX35 gas mileage is BAD!!! 16MPG average???? I would just get the FX45, at least I'll be faster with not much MPG penalty.

Re: FX35 AWD and G35X

I doubt the G35X will be faster. In fact, I would expect it to be slower due to the added weight of the AWD system. If Infiniti would just put the G35 coupe's 280 hp engine in the G35X!

The G35X will be slower than the RWD G, no questions there at all.

Re: FX35 AWD and G35X

But you could launch at higher rpm's and still get traction so it might not be slower. You'll never know until it comes out and someone takes it to the track. Of course, launching at higher rpm's won't be too good on your tranny but hey, if it's going to get the same AWD system as the r32-34 skylines...

Re: FX35 AWD and G35X

It will weigh more, and have more friction in the drivetrain. With equal power, on dry pavement, the RWD will win. A drag race in the snow would be a different story.
