Help, need information please!

I went for an alignment last week due to some uneven wear in the right front tire. Turn out the camber is out of spec. Due to the unajustable camber, the shop look around and could not locate a camber kit. I checked this forum and found out some info about camber kit. I do not plan to get the Kinetix due to some members' complaints. The Cusco is not suitable for my purpose. The Stillen kit is just too much for my purpose.....I can buy a lot of tires for $800! I understand that Specialized Product, which is probably the largest camber kit maker, is going to introduce a kit for our car in July. Is this pretty much certain or is it still in the air?

Another way to solve my problem is to replace both the upper and lower control arm and the spindle,(because I don't know which part is bent), which will cost me about $1000 according to the shop. Is this replacement too much for me to handle? I am reasonably knowledgeble but I have never changed upper and lower control arms before. The spindle does not seem to be that complicated. And where can I order the upper and lower control arms, and spindle cheap. I know the Infiniti dealer has to be expensive. Any suggestions please. Many thanks in advance

Get the Kinetix or Stillen camber arms. They are available on their respective sites http://www.kinetixracing.com and http://www.Stillen.com.

The Kinetix should be fine for you. Don't be scared of them.

SPC has a rear kit right now, not sure about the front. I have had their parts on a few cars. Only complaint was the urethane bushings that squeek after time but they all will have that problem.

The X has a different front suspension. Verify with your dealer's parts department that it uses the same exact upper A arm part as the RWD car does. Do not take ANY aftermarket supplies word, dealer verify only.

Good catch. You always need to double check everything for the X.

So you know for certain that one of the suspension components is bent? If that's the case I would opt to repair or replace the bent part(s) rather than try and correct the problem with camber adjusters.

Many thanks for all the suggestions. I think I will wait for the SPC and compare it with Kinetix. I will check with the dealer about the compatibility of X and regular drive before order any camber kit.

I don't understand this whole thing. Are you saying that the cause of your inability to get the camber in spec is due to bent suspension parts such as the upper or lower control arms? If so, how did this happen? I'm asking because I wonder if you could get these replaced under warranty.

If not, I suggest you simply replace with the stock ones since you don't plan on lowering the car.

I'm with Cru and Miami on this one. If you are not going to lower your car in the future then just replace the part with the oem. If you are going to lower it make sure you are replacing the bent part and not something else to correct it.

I appreciate your comment, however, if you read my thread more carefully you would have seen that in order to correct the camber without the kit, I need to replace both the upper and lower control arms and the spindle since I don't know which part is bent. The parts alone, dicsounted, are over $600. Of course the camber kit is the cheaper way to go as suggested by the repair shop.

What you need to do is repair your car PROPERLY. You do know your suspension pieces are made of forged aluminum. Light and stiff. But not nearly as fogivable when bent. Bent means possible failure. Using aftermarket parts to fix a known bent part is neither wise or recommended. Try to find used parts. Even that would be way better than fixing the symptom and not the cause.

The camber is only off by 0.11 threrfore it is correctable by camber kit. It is not like bent bent.
