Nissan Sport magazine launches, Sport Z folds, all subscriptions honored in full
Greetings G35 Coupe & Sedan owners, I wanted to fill you in on some exciting news in the Infiniti magazine world. The publisher of Sport Z Magazine, Robert Bell, has decided to retire. That said, a new magazine is taking its place.
I’d like to introduce Nissan Sport, a new all-Nissan, all-Datsun, all-Infiniti magazine started and co-owned by the key now-former employees of Sport Z Magazine. The editor-in-chief and publisher is someone you might know: Dave Ochenreider, a G35 owner and poster here. Most if not all key writers from Sport Z are coming aboard (still in the process of contacting all of them). Just about every advertiser has offered Nissan Sport their full support and commitment. More importantly, though, we worked out an agreement with Bob Bell late Friday afternoon of last week that will make subscribers of Sport Z relieved.
Nissan Sport will honor--in full--all Sport Z subscriptions and will have the same great G35 coverage. And more. DaveO’s G is being introduced as a project car and we have plans to start a 2008 G35 Coupe project car after it is released next June. We’ll be beefing up aftermarket shootouts and comparos. Adding more tech tips DIY advice. Other big news: Nissan Sport will be shipped in a protective polybag. The annual subscription price drops to only $14.95. And we are expanding page count by at least another eight pages since we will be accommodating the full line of Nissan vehicles (not all at once, mind you).
Look for the first issue to be mailed out in early September. Essentially, 90 percent of the magazine that was going to ship this Summer as Sport Z will ship this Fall as Nissan Sport. That means readers won’t miss the cover G35 Coupe feature and our other G35 stories.
Right now we have an introductory special of $12.95, which expires July 31. For more information on Nissan Sport, including a detailed FAQ on how much G coverage you can expect, go to our website, www.nissansportmag.com. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Please pass this information along to your friends, forum members, and fans of Sport Z. The Nissan Sport team is determined to deliver the absolute best niche car magazine on the market, and any support you can offer is much appreciated.
This will be one of my last posts as Sport Z Magazine. Look for me soon under Nissan Sport. If you have questions, write me anytime at daveb@nissansportmag.com. Thanks for the understanding and see you in our pages.

I wanted to place a subscription so I went thru the order process. When it came time to enter my MasterCard number, I noticed the web page was not secure. No way in hell am I gonna enter my MasterCard number on an insecure web page. Fix this and your subscriptions will increase dramatically!

This is VERY Exciting!!! From the sound of it Nissan Sport is going to offer what I look forward to and more!
I'm sure the guys involved with this project will make good on all aspects of subscribers needs - like any new venture consumers are the "make it or brake it" aspect... I'm definitely giving my support and look forward to great information!
Now off to this new website - hope it's good!
Thanks Nissan Sport - and congrats!

I'm thrilled about all of this. I think it is going to be a very good thing long term. The expansion of content is something that I think will benefit everyone. More knowledge is never a bad thing.
For those of you concerned about issues because of the change, I don't think there will be many if any at all. These guys have worked really hard to try and cover as many bases as they could think of to make things right for the current SportZ subscribers. I'm not sure what issues there have been for some with delivery (we've never missed an issue) but I feel sure this new mag will do everything they can to make things right. Remember though that this is a quarterly publication so there really are only 4 issues a year.

I'm giving my 2 cents on the Nissan Sport site - but will also state here... I like the idea of opening the topics to more models > quite frankly hopefully that relates to less classic Z and more current VQs!!!!
Of course I'm biased - however I use to own a 280Z and was well involved with the Z community... and even with that I don’t see a viable market for too much exposure to those cars. I give credit to the fact that our cars have been developed from those early models, but really - how much interest is there.
Having that been said - I can’t friggin' wait for my issues of Nissan Sport! I can get the info I search here for in a nutshell!
Hey Nissan Sport - If you need a strong 04.5 sedan test car... I'M RIGHT HERE!!!!
