Better shift programming. The 04.5+ automatics are more responsive than the prior automatics.

Yup. Someone needs to hack the TCM and offer a reflash

When I first had my X, the shift was ok. Then it got better "a little" with the grounding cables. Lately, I noticed the 1st to 2nd gear lag was worst than when I first had the car. Haven't made any changes to the car. What's the deal with that?

Damn...wish I had the old fashion M/T...

stillen valve body upgrade does good things too, but i don't recommend it unless you're going to go turbo/supercharger later.

you can actually request to have the new programming be programmed in your car. I've heard that many have been able to get this service done for free of charge at their dealer. I am going to ask my service manager when I have a chance.

I asked this of my dealer. They said they would only perform TCM and ECU downloads only if we had a problem. Many of the TSBs also state only to do this if there is a particular ECU or TCM code stored.

But do you have the particular reference number that I can take a look at? I'd even pay if the shifting improved enough

you also have to remember, I am certain infiniti refined the tranny, accounting for the 20 hp increase. I am sure it is a different tranny, since they didnt make X's in 2003
