side view mirror replacement

Anyone ever had to replace the entire right side view mirror unit on their G?
How much will it cost at the dealer, or can anyone point me to a place I can get the stock unit (the whole thing cracked, and the mirror fell off)
Just wondering how much it's going to set me back.

Mine came loose and the dealer replaced it under warranty. They had to send it out to be painted so I would bet it will be expensive. Might try a body shop first.

No, mine are not heated. Are the new ones auto dimming too? If so I need to get a set.

Ok, well at least that saves me some money. lol

Being in FL, you are probably not going to use the heated part of the mirrors so you might be able to get an 03/04 mirror.

The plastic support piece that the mirror mounts onto cracked or broke on mine. I have used Liquid nails as a bandaid. I have checked into it at the dealer and received a quote of over $300 + paint cost for an 2004. The mirrorhousing, motor and mirror itself are fine, so I am looking for a used one or even from a wrecked G myself. I asked a buddy that owns a body shop and he said that they have to order the whole assembly @ over $300.

MY pass side mirror is broken. I have a 03 sedan. I broke the painted housing. I have an used assembly and I might be able to part out my old mirror. If everything from the used one is okay. What is your timeframe for replacement?

That was for the 03/04. The 05's were a bit more.

I take it that that's EACH? Wiring is the tough part right?

Personally I like the Coupe/Z mirror shape much better...wish there was a way to retrofit those onto our sedans.

No that was for the pair. Hmmm, they might just be covers, not sure. After I get the grille I might get a set to see.

The wiring would not be hard.

I remember reading a post in the past from someone who added the JDM mirrors....and I believe they said it was tough doing the wiring. Maybe I'll do a search later to find it

BY the way...anyone know of anyone doing a Coupe mirror install on a sedaN???

Ah crap!! I need a drivers side. The only actual piece that I need is the black mount part that the mirror housing screws into and mounts onto the door, but I am open. I went to the dealer and tried to talk them into getting it covered under the warannty, but the were not "supportive".

Thanks though..
