$2500 brake defect check

It finally arrived! I got a check for $2,500 from a group of lawyers for the Nissan North American brake defect lawsuit. I'm ordering the ArizonaZCar Wilwood 6-pot front BBK. The check pays for the four 5Zigen 17X8 +43 18lb wheels and the BBK.

Does this apply for brembo's only? I have 2004 non-brembos and never had a problem with my brakes.

This only applies for '03 - '04 non-Brembo cars. Allthough I fall into this category I never had a problem with the stock brakes, even under track use for 3 events and 28k of street driving.

I went over this in detail some time ago......
I was part of a Class Action lawsuit against Nissan North America for the 2003-2004 G35 brake defect. There were four G35 owners representing the "class". The lawsuit was settled a while ago. The lawyer representing the class (i.e. greedy scumbag lawyers scraping the bottom to earn more money) told me the Judge hearing the case did not believe in class action settlements, so he threw out the class action part of the case. But...... he did side with us poor G35 owners having to replace pads and rotors every 15-30K miles. So... the Judge awarded us four representatives and our lawyers monetary compensation. (i.e. the lawyers received $15,000 apiece and we 4 G35 owners got $2500) Oh well..... I'm happy.

Congrats on the "win", but the rest of us with 03/04 brakes still have to deal with the problems. Wtf!?!

Make sure to post pics of the new brakes and wheels you're getting.

Thats total BS man! I had to replace my brembo pads and rotos on my 04 coupe at around 25K. It was hella expensive. Wish I had heard of this sooner. M-fer!

Because of that class action most dealerships will replace the pads for free for at least 30k miles so I doubt any of the rest of you will be able to get any cash.

I'm at 24k and they told me the same thing. gave me a price of $2k for all new pads and 2 rear rotors. I told them to go poke themselves in the butt and took it to a great mechanic for a second opinion.. Said my rotors had normal wear and didn't need to be replaced. I just picked up HKS Hawk pads for $172 shipped to my house.
