I just picked up HKS Hawk pads for $172 shipped to my house.

i think the posts are refering to how often the pad/rotors wear down so fast. ANd people are saying of you have a 03-04 the dealer should pay for it since this lawsuit can be used in a lawsuit on the account of case law. If a judge rules monetary damages awarded for a brake defect the company must either pay everyone the same who has the problem or compensate and change the brake pads for free.

When I bought my car back in 04, the car came with a 3 year or 36K miles brake warranty on rotors and pads. I have already replaced my pads about 3 times and I have about 35k miles.

You either drive MUCH harder than I do, or something else is wrong with your car.

I'm at 29280 now and haven't had to change the brakes yet. I'm going to have them checked next week at my 30K service (34 months) to see how they are doing. I know that at my 22K service noone mentioned brake issues when I had my tires rotated.

What year is your G? If you have an '03 or '04, you are a big exception, most people are fetting 12-15k out of the front brakes on those models. I'm not a hard driver, and only got 15k out of the fronts on my '04, dirty wheels........

I got an 04 automatic and got a little over 30k before I had to change mine. The fronts were completely gone but the rears had maybe 3/4 pad life still left.

It is the 04 Auto. Get lots of brake dust, but noone has ever stated during maintenance that the brakes needed to be repaired.

Based on cost reported, if I end up replacing the brakes out of warranty, I don't know where I'll go.

^Well, IMO if you are getting that mileage out of your brakes, you've done well on wear, so replacing them out of pocket should be no big deal. At 10k the brakes and rotors on my '05 still look almost like new, so, see, it wasn't me..........
