Jammers are illegal and I don't think you can get away with a simple ticket like that.

Laser jammers are illegal to operate in the states of: Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado and Washington DC.

Radar jammers are illegal to own and/or operate in all 50 states per the Federal Communications Commission.

Like you said, Best Buy wouldn't sell something illegal. Pigs were just hating, as always.

This is simply retarded, to get a random ticket w/o any evidence what so ever. I do not believe best buy sell radar jammer, and secondly, I don't believe any jammer would cost $70!! You should of been more aware of what it is you are sticking in your car and stood up for yourself.

Signing a ticket is only a promise to appear in court. If you refuse to sign you could get arrested. His best recourse is to challenge the ticket in court. The side of the road is not a place to argue legalities.

Don't be sure, cops get paid to make their appearance in court. They get paid to sit around and eat donuts, why not go to court to make a 15 minute appearance and get paid a lot more.

That's a stupid quota ticket. I was told before from someone who works in the police department that there is quota.
If you have enough evidence and well articulate, then fight for your right. Be careful though that the judge is always on the cop's side.

Could get arrested? C'mon cru, I'm sure you've seen 21850 VC per 40302(b) VC on a booking sheet. Shall take. I'll get you to become a deputy yet.

By the way, the brass has been sending me up to work in your neck of the woods this week because of the officer that 10-31'd himself. Sad.

No...most cops take for 148..resist, delay or obstruct only AAA with a gun (jj) takes for VC section. Anyway..reference the court..I get paid four hours to show up for fifteen minutes of court, so more than likely the officer will show up to court. And reference the quota..it is illegal in California to have quota's.

Quotas are illegal in CA so you don't know what you're talking about.

Dude, you're brain-washed by cops. That's what they like you to believe in. Yes, it is true that quota is illegal. But in reality and in the back of the cops' minds; they are required and emphasized by the department's head to get certain amount of "revenue" for their juridictions. I know because two of my co-workers relatives are CHPs. Put it this way, it is one of your unlucky days if you get pulled over. There is not much you can do. You may fight for it in court yet the winning percentage is small unless you got a darn good and persuasive argument.

Quota are a silently encouraged thing in Houston. The mayor said that millions of dollars have been lost because of the lack of citations. So what do you have? ********* setting speed traps on downtown city streets on which everyone takes to get to the highway. These aren't traffic enforments cops as they sit on the highway. No, these are goons that ticket you for going 40 on a 30 street while you are trying to get to the highway during 4-7 pm. The last time I talked to a cop, he told me that quota don't exist anywhere on paper but they are encouraged to get the city money. Don't get me wrong, I believe if you get caught breaking the speed limit, that's your fault, but not during rush hour when ppl are trying to just get home...that's just wrong.

AWESOME. You get to go to court to contest this with your radar detector in-hand as exhibit A. You will OWN this proceeding. And if the broke-*** cop doesn't show up, it gets thrown out. Best of luck to you.

Man, that is a bs ticket. It sounds like all you can do is challenge it in court which shouldn't be difficult - just a pain.
